Rival Restaurants is FULLY STRETCHED!
We did it! You did it! We all did it! Rival Restaurants is fully stretched and is now in its most glorious form! The stretch goals you've unlocked this past week aren't just cosmetic touch ups—they are significant upgrades that will physically improve Rival Restaurant's durability so that you can enjoy it for years to come. We can't believe we hit this milestone with two weeks to spare! Thank you for helping us get to where we are today. But don't worry, we are not done yet!
What We're Cooking Up Next (works in progress)
Even though we're fully stretched, that doesn't mean we've stopped working. In fact, we have a lot of exciting things in the works that we'd like to share:
1) 2-Player Mode
When we originally designed Rival Restaurants, we envisioned a highly interactive and entertaining game made for 3 players or more. And from what our hundreds of play-testers told us, we were able to accomplish exactly that. But almost as soon as we launched on Kickstarter, we started getting flooded with requests for a 2-player mode.
Initially, we had doubts whether it could be done. But to make a long story short, we are so glad that we were so wrong. The 2-player mode we've been testing and working on is VERY EXCITING and we can't wait to tell you about it! We're almost done finalizing the rules and should have an update within a week or so, so stay tuned!
2) Français & Italiano
Thanks to two of our amazing backers—Benoît Pepermans (francais) and Stefano Lo Cascio (italiano)—Rival Restaurants is on its way to being translated into French and Italian! The rulebook will be translated into French and Italian and will be available as digital downloads from our website. These digital, translated rulebooks will also have a list of all action cards, restaurants, and any other game components that are necessary for gameplay. Although we will not be printing the translated rulebooks, they will be available as PDFs so you are more than welcome to print them at your convenience.

3) Add-on
Now that Rival Restaurants is fully stretched, we are turning our attention to finalizing and announcing an exciting add-on that we hope to share by the end of the week. Be on the look out for more details later!
We Will Be Using A Pledge Manager!
When it comes to pledge managers, Backerkit is one of the most trusted names in Kickstarter, so partnering with them was an easy choice for us. With a pledge manager, all backers will be able to adjust their pledges even after the campaign is finished. This also means that you'll be able to include add-ons, purchase additional copies of Rival Restaurants, as well as manage your shipping and delivery preferences.

Big Milestone = Big Stretch Goal
Great job Restauranteurs! Another day, another stretch goal unlocked! Our chefs are a huge part of what makes Rival Restaurants such a dynamic, fun game to play and now, thanks to unlocking the latest stretch goal, all our chefs are going to get a double serving of awesomeness with 2mm thick cutouts! As soon as you hold these chefs in your hands, you'll know they mean business!
When Bigger Isn't Always Better...
We have some great news to share! We just got an updated quote from our manufacturer Panda Games and due to a change in our quote, we are now able to shrink (that's the opposite of "stretch," right?) our stretch goals! Now, Rival Restaurants is closer to being fully stretched than ever before! Although we were more than confident of hitting our initial stretch goals, we wanted to make sure that our backers unlock the best possible version of Rival Restaurants sooner than later, so this is our way of saying THANK YOU!!!

One World has the potential to be a game changer. It is the only Action Card that allows you to get rid of garbage without being at The Island. But this card doesn't just save you a movement (which is already a scarce resource), it also puts $300 in your pocket when discarding 3 garbage normally takes $300 out of it. Congrats Rival Restaurants crew! All 12 chefs are now un-locked and loaded! Here's the newest member of Rival Restaurants: Biff Brobeque!
Biff's power is "Bro-tein Style." Basically, he never has to use vegetables in his recipes--he can use meat instead! And whenever he has two or more meats in his recipe, he gets paid! Biff's power is protein-packed... so just don't ask him to make you a salad.
If sharing is caring, then you must care a lot!
Can we just stop for a minute and say wow. It only took one day for all of you awesome backers to unlock the first Social Media Achievement!
We asked our KS community to leave 50 comments with their favorite food… and you did so in gloriously diverse fashion! We learned about Hortobagyi palacsinta (Hungarian stuffed crepes), Moqueca (a Brazilian fish stew), Khao Soi (a Southeast Asian curry/noodle/soup dish), and so much more! Well. Done. Sous Chef is a really fun concept we came up with because we wanted to maximize our chefs' amazing abilities. And what's more fun than wielding your chef's unique power? Kickstarter Deluxe Exclusives are finally here!
You spoke. We answered. Kickstarter Deluxe Exclusives are finally here! Many of our backers have been patiently waiting to see what we had in store for the Deluxe Edition. Now the wait is over. Here’s what we have in store for you!
Although Rival Restaurants can currently be enjoyed by up to 6 players, we are now expanding it to 8 players! Now all your friends and family can battle it out in the fight for gastronomical glory! The Deluxe Edition will come with 2 extra sets of everything (movement wheels, point sliders, and upgrades).
The 8-player pack is unique to the Deluxe Edition; the Retail Edition can still be enjoyed by up to 6 players.
On top of that--and this is something we’re really excited to share--we are adding 6 brand-new, Kickstarter-Exclusive Action Cards! That's right! You won't be able to find these cards anywhere besides here on Kickstarter! These Action Cards are as powerful as they are beautiful, and each of them is marked with “KSE” (Kickstarter-Exclusive) in the bottom right corner, setting them apart for all eternity.
But we're going to need some help to get these KSE Action Cards unlocked, and the people we're counting on are backers like you! We've created 6 Social Media Achievements that we'd like to accomplish over the remaining days of the campaign. Some of you have been asking "what kind of Kickstarter EXCLUSIVES are you planning to offer?" Although we can't tell you exactly what just yet, let's just say that the update is going to get a lot of ACTION. Just look for the icon below later this week!
And here's what's next!
Biff is a meathead, plain and simple. His penchant for pork is second only to his bromance with beef. A regular at the Chop Shop, Biff is the kind of guy you'd want to invite over for your barbeque--just be prepared to hand over your tongs because the master of meat gives the grill to no one.
